Publack Library Publishing was founded by Antonia Royal-Whitmore in 2023, despite her constant struggle with English, grammar, and public speaking.
Once Antonia noticed literacy was a direct reflection of a persons quality of life, she began searching for ways to help the many people in her community that struggle with literacy.
With observation and research, she concluded that in addition to historical and ancestral literacy trauma, many classrooms, libraries, and bookstores carried books that did not cater to the African American demographic.
The lack of proper literacy aid and accurate representation has forced many Black Americans to pass down the trait of functional illiteracy.
Antonia is creating a buffer to this epidemic by writing stories to fill the discrepancies within the literary industry for both children and adults. She believes that accessible books that are representative and accurately depicts a persons personal and cultural experiences can improve literacy within the Black community.
She has published over a dozen projects and enjoys helping authors of color tell their own stories.
